Post #1646, COVID-19 through 11/30, still no significant trend

Posted on December 1, 2022

It seems as if “tripledemic” has finally been dropped by the news media.  For the simple reason that COVID is failing to play its part.  Near as I can tell, there’s still no trend in new cases, we’re way past the point where prior winter waves started, and there’s nothing happening in Canada.

Like so:

Note that Canada is not subject to any Thanksgiving-based data reporting errors at this point, as they had their Thanksgiving last month.

And here’s another little kick in the pants.  Looks like the flu season — the one that started early — is peaking early.  Nationally, cases continue to climb.   But the national scene isn’t what matters to any one individual.

Below, I note that the flu season got started in the South Atlantic states.  And it appears to have peaked in those states.  Keep your eye on Georgia and surrounding states:

No guarantees.   But trees don’t grow to the sky.  And flu seasons don’t last forever.

Now if I could only figure out how to pronounce syncytial.
