Posted on September 10, 2022

The post-Labor Day decline in newly diagnosed cases continues.  The U.S. new COVID case count is now at 20 / 100K / day, down two from just a couple of days ago.  Deaths are approaching 300/day, hospitalizations are below 4500/day.

Data source for this and other graphs of new case counts:  Calculated from The New York Times. (2021). Coronavirus (Covid-19) Data in the United States. Retrieved 9/10/2022, from https://github.com/nytimes/covid-19-data.”  The NY Times U.S. tracking page may be found at https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/us/coronavirus-us-cases.html

Separately, we may have finally reached the point where new case counts are either low or declining all around the world.
